I find that this time of the year brings a melancholy feeling. Especially this year. Accordingly, my mind has been wandering to quite possibly the worlds most recognizable grey donkey and his unique take on life.

On looking outside…

“The nicest thing about rain is that it always stops. Eventually.” – Eeyore

Re: the past year…

“Could be worse. Not sure how, but it could be.” – Eeyore

“That’s what would be so interesting, Pooh. Not being quite sure till afterward.” – Eeyore

And (oh joy), thinking of the winter ahead…

“It’s snowing still. And freezing. However, we haven’t had an earthquake lately.” – Eeyore

I guess you can say that at the moment I can relate to Eeyore. At the same time, he reminds me of all the donkeys that we, and you, support. Primrose Donkey Sanctuary and the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada have had an equally challenging year. But as Eeyore exclaimed in one of his brighter moments… “It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine!”. Our collection box is filling up beautifully, and we look forward to years end when we count / match / and send.
