With the Academy Awards media rush just over, I was curious to search and see if any movies from bygone years were themed around cheese. Seems a few had ‘cheese’ in the title: “I am the Cheese” (a psycho-thriller from 1983); “Ham and Cheese” (a comedy released in 2004); and the more recent 2007 romantic film “I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With”. Not really about cheese, but I think the ‘cheese’ word was actually a bit like a door crasher… out to get the attention.
That leads me to the cheese aficionado video, title and all, called “Cheese Slices”. If you love cheese and haven’t seen these series episodes, I urge you to check them out.
Will Studd is the host and an international cheese specialist who has traveled and explored the fascinating history, skills and traditions behind some of the world’s most significant cheeses. He takes you behind the scenes as he visits dairies and cheese makers in more than two dozen countries around the globe. A great sense of fun and humor, and keen on adventure, he makes these shows highly entertaining.
So next time you want to cozy up in front of the screen, grab a favorite wedge and enjoy! I have a hunch even Oscar would approve.
