Pionnier

Pionnier cheese is a very special cheese indeed. It is a collaboration of two artisanal cheese-makers in Quebec… Fromagerie Nouvelle France and Fromagerie Presbytere. Quantity and distribution are very limited as production is seasonal, combining both raw cow milk and raw sheep milk. It is done in the Swiss-style manner with noted comparisons to Beaufort… the famed mountain cheese of France. The aroma carries butter and brown sugar while the flavour is rich with nuances of flowers and macadamian nuts.

This award-winning cheese serves beautifully on the board. Simplicity is the key with a unique and exquisite entry as such – serve alone with a  fine Pinot Noir or Savoie.
