Crotin de Chavignol AOC

Judge not this wonderful piquant goat cheese by its name as this literally translates as ‘horse dung’. The name given was in reference to the small round shape and darker aged colour of this cheese at full maturity.

Crotin de Chavignol is usually seen and eaten quite young when the interior is soft and the rind is pale brown-white.  It becomes more dry and crumbly with sharper taste as it ages.

How to Enjoy:

This is a great addition and conversation piece on the cheese board. This cheese pairs well with full body robust wines.
